Blame PAX
Weekdays up to PAX Prime this last weekend were just too busy to hit that Beta goal. It's the last big vacation of the year, so it was nice to savor it. Once I readjust to a routine, a Beta build won't be far off. I'm easing back into work a bit tonight, so expect another update soon.

Art and Animation
Tower sprites are done and I'm currently in the process of animating them. They will be fairly crude 3 or so frame animations, but it'll be better than nothing. My last 40-hour game felt a bit lifeless, so I've allotted some time for some minor animations and effects this time around. That said, I decided to use a few stock graphics to save me some time. I'm over the halfway mark now and next update or the one after I'll be sure and get some screenshots up of how the game is looking so far and maybe even actually explain the concept.

Let's Call it Alpha
Well, it's playable. Tons of tweaking and balancing to do, which is definitely important for a tower defense game. It's about time to focus on the art though. I'm currently using some placeholder artwork from my last 40-hour game and some other High-Def squares and circles. Here's a little peak at how things are evolving though. Once I start getting some reasonable quality screenshots of the art style and design a real GUI, I'll explain more details about the game.
